Planado Product Updates, September 2026: Passkey Sign-In and Territories Drawn on the Map

In September, the Planado web app got password-free sign-in, and territory boundaries can now be drawn right on the map.
Sign in with a passkey
You can now sign in to the Planado web app without a password. Use whatever you already unlock your device with: Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, Android screen lock, or a hardware security key such as YubiKey.
To add a passkey:
- Open your profile menu and go to the passkeys section.
- Click to add a new passkey. The device name is filled in automatically, and you can change it if you like.
- Enter your Planado password and confirm the passkey in the browser prompt.
You set up a passkey once per device. After that, choose passkey sign-in on the login page, or pick your passkey from the browser suggestion in the email field.
Your password keeps working. You'll need it if you lose your phone or laptop, and to confirm new passkeys when you add them.
The passkey list shows the provider (Apple Passwords, Google Password Manager, Windows Hello and others), when each key was added and when it was last used. You can rename or delete any key. Every passkey sign-in is recorded in the audit log together with the sign-in method, so your company admin can see who signed in and how.
Draw territory boundaries on the map
Until now, territory boundaries came from a GeoJSON file: you prepared it in a third-party mapping tool and uploaded it to Planado. Now you can draw the outline directly while creating a territory.
In the boundaries field, switch to drawing on the map and open the map editor. Click to place the points of the outline and double-click to finish. Neighboring territories are shown in gray while you draw, so it's easy to avoid overlaps. When the outline is ready, apply it.
Planado automatically assigns job addresses that fall inside the drawn boundaries to the territory.
Territories you already uploaded from GeoJSON can now be edited in Planado too. Open the territory and switch its boundary source to drawing on the map. The outline from the file appears on the map, where you can adjust and save it. The attached file is removed after that.
Territories help when you split a service area between technicians or crews: you can filter jobs by them and build a job report for a specific territory. Learn more about setting them up in Creating a list of territories.
